SHADE CHEAP: MIDNIGHT BLUE NAIL POLISHES

Prepare yourself for another post in our Feeling Pretty series....

Hello, nail-painters! Today, we are introducing our new girly series, called "Shade Cheap," where we pick a shade (like midnight blue!) and a product type (like nail polish) and share the best, affordable options that fit that bill! It is our fun way of seeing what the drugstore has to offer in color, as well as quality, at prices that fit our college student budgets! Let's give three big cheers for having fashionably painted nails AND enough money left for food and books! Yay!!! :)

We are kicking off the series with midnight blue nail polishes! And we have four cheap polishes in stunning shades of midnight blue to share with you (in no particular order)!

Let's start with the Sinful Colors "Midnight Blue" Nail Polish. The name fits it perfectly--it is that classic color that comes to mind when you hear "midnight blue!" This goes on smoothly, looks flawless with two coats, and has a gorgeous finish with a beautiful shine! This classy shade of deep, bright blue is a must-have!

Next up, we have the NYC Quick Dry Nail Polish in "Pier 17." The color, quality, and finish of this is extremely similar to that of the Sinful Colors "Midnight Blue," but there are three differences to keep in mind: the NYC one dries WAY faster, is slightly less long-wearing, and has a slightly cooler undertone.

The Wet n Wild MegaLast Nail Color in "Root of All Evil" (from the "Pick Your Poison" collection) is another gorgeous shade of midnight blue. Honestly, on the nails, you cannot tell much of a difference between this one and the Sinful Colors "Midnight Blue," and the dry time and longevity is pretty much the same, too. But, "Root of All Evil" does have the advantage of the wider brush, which makes the application process is a little quicker and easier.

And the last polish we have to show you is the Wet n Wild Fast Dry Nail Color in "Saved by the Blue." This one is definitely a little lighter than the others, it dries slightly faster than the MegaLast and Sinful Colors polishes, but not nearly as fast as the NYC Quick Dry one, and like the other three, it looks great with two coats.

All four are great options if you are on the hunt for a fabulous midnight blue at your local drugstore! If we HAD to pick a favorite, we would say the Wet n Wild MegaLast Nail Color in "Root of All Evil." If you cannot get your hands on it, though (since it is a limited edition shade), we suggest the Sinful Color Nail Polish in "Midnight Blue" for the classic, high quality midnight blue nail experience!! ;)
