Prepare yourself for another post in our Quick Tip series....

If you walked by our house yesterday, you may or may not have heard squealing and cursing coming from our garage. You might think that one of us hurt ourselves on some sharp piece of wood-working equipment, or something super dramatic and dangerous like that. And if you consider plastic jars of paint to be sharp and dangerous, then I guess that's true. Because we nearly pulled half the muscles in our hands trying to get the lid off of them!! And no, I am not kidding.... Stop laughing, it hurt!

We tried RIDICULOUSLY hard to get the stupid lids off of these Valspar paint sample jars for ten painful minutes, and made absolutely zero progress until we pulled out some rubber bands. We just put the rubber band around the lid, and that gave us the extra "traction," or "grip," or whatever you want to call it to help us screw the lids off. We were so relieved and amazed at how well the rubber band trick worked, we just had to share it with you!

So, next time you cannot screw a lid off a jar of paint, just use the simple and powerful combination of a rubber band and woman power (which our darling Sprinki uses so well--look at those fashionably-placed rubber bands on her wrist)!!! Good luck screwing (ha, ha, not THAT kind of screwing!!) and happy painting!
